Dark side of Electricity: Hospital based Retrospective Observation Study of Deaths Due to Electrocution

Electricity is the set of physical phenomena associated with presence and flow electric charge. Electrical injuriesare a relatively common type mechanical trauma that can be caused by lightning, low-voltage trauma, or high-voltagetrauma. They frequently have high morbidity mortality rates. A hospital based descriptive observational study wasconducted at SMS Medical College, in department forensic medicine Jaipur, Rajasthan from 20th June 2021 to19th 2022. There were 75 death cases electrocution included sample. Males made up 92% cases,while females only 8% cases, for male to female ratio 11.5 1. The majority subjects (34.67%) arebetween ages 21 30. Age group 31–40 (26.67%) came next. are 54 (72% total) rural residents thearea where subject resides. subjects, 39 (52%), fell into lower middle class according theModified Kuppuswamy scale. Mortality rate fatal reduced providing immediate adequateresuscitation. Although accidental accounts fatalities, suicidal homicidal electrocutionshould also taken account.
